modernfurnitureokc.com is the brainchild of Brian M. Brody who
in 1994 quit his job in the insurance industry and followed his
lifelong dream to create and build a business with his hands.
A high school vo-tech trained upholsterer since 1979 I took my
business training (Bachelors in Business Administration 1989),
my training as an upholsterer and the love for mid-century
modern furnishings to create the brick and mortar business,
leitmotif..."real retro in the metro" which operated
from 1995 through 2003.
In 2003 I was made an offer that could not be refused for the
leitmotif building and decided to take some time off to restore
a 1962 Cliff May style modern Ranch in Oklahoma City.
In 2005 I created and launched a web-based mid-century modern
business much in the way I had previously done with leitmotif,
by offering completely restored mid century modern gems, and
vintage mint condition furnishings.
This year in 2007 I have expanded and will be improving the
inventory you will see on my website as I have moved to a 3000
square foot warehouse and workspace which will allow me to both
increase the quality restoration categories but also the way in
which the items are displayed.
2008 will see many changes to the modernfurnitureokc.com
operation. I have opened a retail mall space in THE
ANTIQUE AVENUE MARKET located at 5219 North Western
Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This will become my retail
showroom for those customers who wish to see a small sample of
the inventory I have available. I am also taking on more custom
upholstery work this year. Let me bring new life to your
furniture. We can reupholster any type of furniture.
